Rangers 40 – man roster

25 days until pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training in Surprise AZ. So I thought it was time to let you know the players that will be there. Barring any trades between now and then, or FA signings. Here is the 40 – man roster:

    so the question would be which of the non roster invitees have a legitimate shot at making the team?

    The obvious choice is Sammy Sosa but I like Eric Hurley to turn some heads and possibly come out of this whole thing as the sleeper candidate for the 5th starter spot.

    If we don’t trade Wilkerson and or Diaz I think we need to trade Botts & Gold to give them the chance to get a regular gig somewhere and prove to be good players like Travis Hafner…that guy is an all out stud and oh how I wish he could have caught on as our DH back then….or at least got more than Ryan Drese for him

    Drew Meyer and Jerry Hairston have a shot at bench roles. One of them, not both. But the main thing I would like to see from the non-roster invitees is Hurley and Diamond to show they can be major league pitchers, in the very near future. Also agree about Sosa. Hope he has something left.
